Promoting Social Agency and Global Fluency Through Technology-Based Projects
Adriana Merino, Spanish 101 y 102 course coordinator, and Jovana Zujevic, Spanish lecturer, gave a presentation at the NERALLT (New England Regional Association for Language Learning Technology) Annual Conference at Yale University on October 19, 2019. Their talk examined how collaborative multimedia and multi-literacy projects can be used effectively in L2 teaching not only to enhance language proficiency, but also to promote social awareness, agency, and global fluency. Dr. Merino y Dr. Zujevic showcased examples of a semester-long project at the elementary level of Spanish (Spanish 102) at Princeton and discussed the results of a questionnaire addressing students’ satisfaction, their perception of the whole process, and gains as global and intercultural agents.
